These Terms and Conditions explain the rules for using the CitedFirst website and the general terms that apply when you contact us, request information or use our services.

Last updated: 19 September 2026

CitedFirst operates this website and provides the services described here.

By using this website, you agree to these Terms and Conditions. If you do not agree, please do not use this website.

1. About CitedFirst

CitedFirst provides SEO, Local SEO, Google Business Profile optimisation, GEO, AI visibility, AI-ready website design and related visibility services for local and service-area businesses.

2. Website use

You may use this website for lawful purposes only.

You must not:

  • misuse the website;
  • attempt to gain unauthorised access to the website, server or systems;
  • introduce viruses, malware or harmful code;
  • copy, scrape or reproduce website content without permission;
  • use the website in a way that could damage, disable or impair it;
  • submit false, misleading or unlawful information through forms.

We may restrict or block access to the website if we believe it is being misused.

3. Website content

The content on this website is provided for general information only. It is not legal, financial or professional advice.

We make reasonable efforts to keep website content accurate and up to date, but we do not guarantee that all information is complete, current or error-free.

SEO, Google, Google Maps, AI search, AI Overviews, local rankings and third-party platforms change frequently. Any information about search visibility or digital marketing should be treated as general guidance unless agreed in a specific service proposal.

4. Enquiries and Free Visibility Plan requests

You can contact us or request a Free Visibility Plan through this website.

Submitting a form does not create a contract or client relationship. A contract is only formed when we agree the scope of work, pricing and terms in writing.

We may decline enquiries at our discretion.

5. Services

Where we provide services, the exact scope, deliverables, fees, timelines and payment terms will be set out in a written proposal, quote, statement of work, email agreement or invoice.

Services may include, but are not limited to:

  • SEO strategy;
  • Local SEO;
  • Google Business Profile optimisation;
  • GEO services;
  • AI visibility services;
  • AI-ready website design;
  • website structure and content recommendations;
  • technical SEO reviews;
  • local visibility planning;
  • reporting and consultancy.

If there is any conflict between these Terms and a written proposal or signed agreement, the written proposal or agreement will take priority for that specific project.

6. No guarantee of rankings or results

We do not guarantee specific rankings, traffic levels, enquiries, sales, Google Maps positions, AI Overview inclusion, ChatGPT-style answer visibility or other third-party platform outcomes.

Search engines, AI systems, social platforms, analytics platforms and local discovery platforms are controlled by third parties. Their algorithms, policies, indexing, ranking systems and display features can change at any time.

We will provide services with reasonable skill and care, but results depend on many factors outside our control, including competition, website history, technical condition, content quality, client implementation, reviews, authority, budget, market demand and third-party platform changes.

7. Client responsibilities

If you become a client, you agree to provide the information, access and approvals reasonably needed for us to deliver the agreed services.

This may include:

  • website access;
  • Google Business Profile access;
  • analytics or Search Console access;
  • hosting or CMS access;
  • brand information;
  • business details;
  • service descriptions;
  • target locations;
  • approvals for content, design, technical changes or recommendations.

Delays in providing information, access or approvals may affect delivery times and results.

You are responsible for ensuring that information you provide is accurate, lawful and not misleading.

8. Website and Google Business Profile access

Where access is provided to a website, Google Business Profile, analytics account or other system, we will use that access only for agreed work.

You should only provide the level of access necessary for the project. You remain responsible for maintaining account ownership, passwords and recovery details.

9. Content and approvals

We may prepare content, recommendations, page structures, metadata, schema, reports, design drafts or other materials as part of the agreed services.

You are responsible for reviewing and approving materials before publication unless we have agreed otherwise in writing.

You are also responsible for checking that factual claims, service descriptions, prices, accreditations, locations, case studies, testimonials and legal statements are accurate.

10. Fees and payment

Fees, payment dates and payment methods will be stated in the relevant proposal, invoice or written agreement.

Unless otherwise agreed:

  • invoices must be paid by the due date shown on the invoice;
  • work may be paused if payment is late;
  • recurring services may be paused or cancelled if invoices remain unpaid;
  • reasonable recovery costs may be added where permitted by law.

All prices are exclusive of VAT unless stated otherwise. If VAT becomes applicable, VAT may be added at the prevailing rate.

11. Cancellations and changes

Cancellation terms for specific projects or retainers will be set out in the relevant proposal or agreement.

If no separate cancellation terms are agreed:

  • one-off project work may be charged for work already completed or committed;
  • monthly services may require written notice before the next billing period;
  • urgent work, strategy work, audits, reviews and custom planning may be non-refundable once started.

Any requested change to scope, timeline or deliverables may require a revised quote.

12. Third-party costs

Some services may involve third-party costs, such as hosting, plugins, themes, stock images, tools, advertising, software, subscriptions, domains or external developers.

Unless clearly included in our proposal, third-party costs are your responsibility.

We are not responsible for third-party service failures, outages, price changes, policy changes or account restrictions.

13. Intellectual property

Unless otherwise agreed in writing:

  • CitedFirst owns its pre-existing methods, frameworks, templates, know-how, processes and internal systems;
  • you own your pre-existing brand assets, business information and materials you provide;
  • once invoices are paid in full, you may use the final agreed deliverables created specifically for you for your own business purposes.

Drafts, unused concepts, rejected designs, internal notes, research methods and working files remain owned by CitedFirst unless agreed otherwise.

You must not resell, copy, license or redistribute our materials to third parties without permission.

14. Portfolio and case studies

Unless you tell us otherwise in writing, we may refer to your business as a client and describe the general type of work completed.

We will not publish confidential information, private analytics data, sensitive business information or detailed results without permission.

15. Confidentiality

Both parties agree to keep confidential information private and use it only for the purpose of the agreed work.

Confidential information does not include information that is already public, independently developed or required to be disclosed by law.

16. Limitation of liability

Nothing in these Terms limits liability where it would be unlawful to do so.

To the fullest extent permitted by law, we are not liable for:

  • loss of profits;
  • loss of revenue;
  • loss of business;
  • loss of goodwill;
  • loss of data;
  • indirect or consequential loss;
  • third-party platform changes;
  • search engine or AI system ranking changes;
  • delays caused by lack of access, approvals or information;
  • issues caused by third-party tools, hosting, plugins or services.

Our total liability for any claim will not exceed the amount paid by you for the specific service giving rise to the claim, unless a different limit is agreed in writing.

17. External links

This website may include links to external websites. These links are provided for convenience only.

We are not responsible for the content, accuracy, availability or privacy practices of third-party websites.

18. Privacy and cookies

Your use of this website is also governed by our Privacy Policy.

We use cookies and similar technologies as explained in our Privacy Policy and cookie banner. You can manage non-essential cookie preferences through the cookie settings on the website.

19. Changes to these Terms

We may update these Terms and Conditions from time to time. The latest version will be published on this page with an updated date.

20. Governing law

These Terms and Conditions are governed by the laws of England and Wales.

Any disputes will be subject to the courts of England and Wales, unless another jurisdiction is required by law.
